Barbie doll as a source of inspiration.
One of the iconic films of 2023 is, of course, the story of the Barbie doll. My female circle (suddenly!) was divided into two camps: those who had already downloaded and watched and courageously waiting for a decent version of the film in theaters.
Such unanimity could not but affect the choice of colors in manicures: pink varnish, already beloved by girls, is experiencing a boom in popularity. Let’s see how to choose a pink manicure and fit it into your look to collect all possible compliments on the crest of the trend wave.
Pink manicure for short nails
For girls with short nails, a fashionable pink manicure can be transparent or dense shades, bright or pastel.
For a short square, I suggest this super light-dense pastel. This manicure looks good on well-groomed, moisturized skin: the bleached pastel highlights all the peeling, hangnails, and other cuticle defects. At the same time, it looks fantastic in the photo – take note if you are going to a professional photo shoot.
A combination of two or three shades of pink looks charming on short and medium nails. The lightest tone can be used as a base for design, for example, for light stamping or delicate hand-drawn floristry. Effective and stylish, right?
A combination of pink, milky, and dried flowers looks excellent on nails of any length. It’s time to wear this manicure before the summer mood runs away from us into the sunset. Such floral motifs look great with light, flowy dresses, large-brimmed hats, and delicate makeup, a la a young lady on a first date.
Pink shades feel great in a gradient. If thick shades feel too heavy, choose a soft pink translucent flake tone and stretch it over the milky one. As an accent, you can add a couple of crumbs of metallic gold, although such a manicure already looks luxurious.
Pink manicure for long nails
On long nails, rich, dense shades of pink look the coolest. Transparency is appropriate here only when you are ready to bother with the perfect cleanliness of the free edge (the pigmentation of the natural smile line will look like dirt).
If you want to avoid dealing with the hassle of washing your hands with brushes every day, there’s a simple solution: add yuca flakes to pink or milky clear. They will hide the free edge and not overload the delicate shade.
I adore bright pink shades like fuchsia on the length – it goes exceptionally well with feminine nail shapes: oval and not too narrow almond.
If you like the slight translucency of pink at the cuticle, pay attention to camouflage bases and gels filled with mica. They lighten rigid massive shapes such as a long square and look gentle and modern. This manicure also grows pleasantly: the edge of the cuticle coating does not have a clearly defined border and will allow you to spend an extra week with decent-looking nails.
Do you like the idea of short nails with a couple of pink tones? For long nails, I wanted this variation with cobweb rub decoration. It can be purposefully laid out in polygonal geometric shapes or haphazardly stuck on with a glove. The shades of such a web are a sea of colors and can be matched to warm and cold pink substrates without any problems.
